Bill Gabovitch, Professional Biography
Bill has been deeply involved in his Jewish community for most of his life.
Bill has served JCRC in a variety of capacities. He was chair of the Strategic Planning Committee 2008-2010. Bill has served as an officer since 2005. He has chaired the JCRC Advocacy Day and the Legislative Reception. Bill currently serves on JCRC's Finance, Governance and Strategic Plan Implementation committee. Bill has also been a long time volunteer at the Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston (CJP). He was the campaign chair of the Young Leadership Division, chair of the Young Adult Task Force, co-chair of Campaigner Training and Enrichment, chair of the South Area Task Force and co-chair of Leadership Resource Development. Bill served for 12 years in the CJP allocation process, culminating as chair of the Community Services Committee, one of three allocation committees, supporting national agencies, community relations, inclusion and social services. Bill also served CJP on the Budget and Administration committee, the Caring and Social Justice subcommittee of the Strategic Planning committee, and the Strategic Plan Implementation committee. Bill has also served his synagogue, Shir Hadash Reconstructionist Havurah, as an officer and committee chair. In addition, Bill led a UJC Summer Family Mission to Israel in 2005.
Professionally, Bill is a Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Staples, Inc. Bill was previously an attorney for the law firms of Nutter, McClennen & Fish and Kaye, Fialkow Richmond and Rothstein.
Bill graduated from Indiana University in 1984,with honors and Phi Beta Kappa and the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1987.
