Leading Interfaith Organization
JCRC was a founding member of the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization, almost ten years ago. At that time we made a leap of faith to join this fledgling organization, motivated by our desire to be part of a broad based coalition to improve the quality of life in Greater Boston. Ten years later, GBIO has grown into a powerful and effective organization. JCRC has played a key leadership role in each issue campaign, which have addressed such issues as affordable housing, resources for public education, working conditions for nursing home workers and universal health care.
Evelyn Frankford, a congregation member at Temple Beth Zion, says: "JCRC's support for GBIO stimulated TBZ's initial involvement and membership. JCRC's connection continues to bolster our work with GBIO and on social justice. Meir Lakein is a superb organizer."
Temple Beth Zion has been a member of GBIO since 2002.
