Send page to a Friend Who We Are JCRC promotes a society that reflects the best of American and Jewish values -- in Greater Boston, Israel and around the world -- by convening and mobilizing the Jewish community.  Through advocacy, organizing, service and partnerships, JCRC pursues social justice, ensures a vibrant Jewish community, and builds a network of support for Israel. JCRC is an agency of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies and a beneficiary of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay. Pursuing social justice JCRC pursues social justice by taking action to raise awareness, build coalitions, develop leaders, and promote volunteer service to effect change in the broader community.   JCRC:  encourages investment in urban economic development supports the public policy priorities of the Jewish community and its partners through advocacy, coalition-building and community education engages volunteers to promote childhood literacy through one-on-one tutoring, book drives and advocacy builds a network of support for social justice in Israel through the Haifa Social Justice and Civil Society Initiatives involves congregations in efforts to end family homelessness assists synagogue leaders to build their congregations’ commitment to social justice, build relationships with people of other faiths and take action on issues of common concern cultivates young leaders and connects them to social justice initiatives Strengthening community JCRC promotes a vibrant future for the Jewish community by fostering understanding, improving quality of life and strengthening institutions—in Greater Boston and around the world   JCRC:  advocates for the needs of vulnerable Jews, in Greater Boston, Ukraine, Israel, and Ethiopia links local community organizations and their members with Haifa and Dnepropetrovsk through exchange programs, community-building, partnerships and support shares the universal lessons of the holocaust to promote awareness and eliminate discrimination, hate, and intolerance organizes leadership development opportunities through partnerships with synagogues and community-based organizations mobilizes teens, college students and young adults to engage in community service and public policy advocacy in Boston and around the world Supporting Israel   JCRC builds a broad network of support for Israel in its quest for a secure and lasting peace.   JCRC:  convenes the Jewish community in times of celebration and crisis involves college students in pro-Israel initiatives through the Israel Campus Roundtable facilitates educational opportunities for Jews and non-Jews to visit Israel builds grassroots support through community and synagogue-based efforts educates Jews, opinion leaders and the general public about challenges facing Israel
