2009 Annual Meeting
Celebrating our Past, Embracing our Future
JCRC's 65th Annual Meeting took place on June 10. Bringing together nearly 200 partners from our 41 member organizations, we renewed and strengthened our relationship with members of our community who stand with us when we sound the call to action.
In keeping with our theme of "Celebrating our Past, Embracing our Future," event chair Philip Gordon (right) announced that JCRC's archives have been digitized and are now available for study at American Jewish Historical Society. JCRC of Greater Boston is the first JCRC in the country to have archives available for public study in this manner.
Moving from our rich history to a future full of opportunity, JCRC President Stuart T. Rossman outlined a summary of JCRC's Strategic Plan, a roadmap which will govern our direction for the next five years. Modeling our work on a vision of how we want the world to be in the future, we will focus on strong, meaningful relationships and engagement of the next generation of Jewish leaders, among other things. Our celebration closed with a panel discussion hosted by Executive Director Nancy K. Kaufman and three of our partners: Reverend Hurmon Hamilton (co-Chair of Greater Boston Interfaith Organization and Senior Pastor at Roxbury Presbyterian Church USA), Donna Haig Friedman Ph.D. (Director of the McCormack Center for Social Policy at UMass Boston) and Jerry Rubin (President and Chief Executive Officer of Jewish Vocational Services).
