Welcome to the GBJCL Blog!

Hello and welcome to the GBJCL blog! I am Leora Perkins, the new GBJCL Program Coordinator, and I am delighted to be interacting with our wonderful volunteers, both in person and online. We are pleased to announce this space where I and various volunteers will share anecdotes and reflections regarding the program each month.
The Greater Boston Jewish Coalition for Literacy (GBJCL) mobilizes the Jewish community to help elementary school children discover the joy of reading. Through partnerships with synagogues, Jewish community organizations, day schools and local businesses GBJCL engages volunteers in school based one-to-one reading tutoring, book drives and advocacy efforts in under-served communities. The GBJCL provides professional training and resources to enable program participants to provide the most effective support to the students and schools they serve. For more information, visit our website.
We invite you to follow our blog, like us on facebook, and share your experiences and questions online and in person. Please be in touch!
