Elder Advocacy
Through a broad public policy initiative JCRC advocates on issues pertaining to the growing population of seniors in the Jewish community and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts such as economic security, long-term care, aging with dignity, and access to resources. To meet the needs of elders JCRC is collaborating with the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization. Currently GBIO is in the process of researching the best ways to meet the needs of seniors by sitting down with key groups of service providers, members of synagogues and churches and seniors themselves.
JCRC has also had professionals from UMASS' Gerontology Institute come speak to our Public Policy Committee about recent findings and reports on the topic of elder economic security.

JCRC also testifies and provides written testimony to Executive Offices in government at select hearings to address the growing needs of seniors.
