Get Involved

  • Join the JCRC Ethiopian Jewry Committee. The Committee, chaired by Peter Barrer, along with its sister committee in Haifa, chaired by Eshetu Kebede, administers various programs and activities in Haifa and advocates for Ethiopian Jews locally.
  • Organize an educational forum or event on Ethiopian Jewry at your synagogue, school or agency. JCRC will assist you in finding a speaker.
  • Meet with representatives of the Ethiopian community during missions or group trips to Israel. JCRC will help connect you with organizations working to improve opportunities for Ethiopian Jews in Israel.
  • Purchase or sell Ethiopian embroidered crafts. Support the Ethiopian women involved in the embroidery project in Haifa by either purchasing their crafts, or by selling them. You can make purchases (even custom special orders) for personal events like Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, or special celebrations. We can also supply craft items for sale through your synagogue, workplace, or local Judaica stores. For more details contact Sandra Krumholz at skrumholz@jcrcboston.org.
  • Make a donation. Support work in Haifa or in Ethiopia financially. We can tell you how.
  • Tell the story of the Ethiopian Jews to your family and friends. We can provide you with materials.
