Multicultural Sensitivity

Although Israeli society consists of many different groups, there is still a large social and cultural gap between the Ethiopian community and other Israelis. Service providers often do not understand the unique culture and character of the Ethiopian community, and lack sufficient sensitivity to cultural differences, which decreases their effectiveness.

Ma’arag 

Shiluvim has contracted with the organization Ma’arag to provide multicultural sensitivity workshops. Ma’arag provides workshops for school students and staff and health services staff. Ma’arag also leads workshops for Shiluvim committees and staff on issues related to professional and community identity.
