"Assi Azar's film and presentation were inspiring. I'm so delighted JCRC brought him to Boston to share his experiences as an out role model in Israel. His documentary addressed – with thoughtfulness and sensitivity – the impact of coming out on an entire family, and the particular challenges of navigating religion, culture, and sexuality."

Assi Azar was here in Boston as part of a larger month long campaign organized by various Jewish organizations in the Boston-area aimed to educate the community about the status of civil rights for LGBT Israeli citizens and to celebrate the LGBT community and culture in Israel. Azar's screening and discussion broadened the conversation about Israelis and Israeli society.
