Workforce Development
In Judaism, helping a person become self-sufficient is considered the highest form of giving on the "ladder of charity." The organized Jewish community supports policies that lead to self-sufficiency for low-income families, such as funding for workforce development initiatives.
Workforce development items have been funded at very low levels in throughout the budget process and in the conference committee budget. Unemployment numbers continue to rise in the Commonwealth and MAJF is committed to gaining additional funding for important programs that get individuals back into the workforce.
