The organizer will be responsible for organizing several synagogues, i.e. identifying and training leaders, providing support in congregational development and implementation of issue campaigns. They will function as part of JCRC’s organizing team and in collaboration with the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO), our local broad based organizations.

Reporting to the Director of Israel and International Partnerships, the Program Assistant will work with department and other agency staff to help coordinate and implement JCRC’s Israel agenda, which includes our work with the Boston-Haifa Connection. Responsibilities include assisting in the planning and implementation of Study Tours and other programming, advocacy, and relationship-building, as well as related administrative functions.

JCRC’s youth organizing is part of TELEM: Youth Making a Difference, which engages Jewish teens in service learning. Through TELEM’s organizing track, JCRC trains and support teens to take (non-partisan) political action on issues they prioritize, in collaboration with teens in Greater Boston. Successful past campaigns have included: advocacy for increased funding in the state budget for youth jobs, reducing diesel emissions and education.
