Young Adult & Campus Program Coordinator, Israel Action Center

Under the supervision of the Director of the IAC, the Program Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing JCRC's Israel program, agenda and advocacy efforts focused on college campuses, and young adults in the Greater Boston area.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement JCRC's broad campus strategy (advocacy training, program consulting, campaign planning) to "make Israel's case" in various settings;
  • Facilitate and coordinate the activities of the Israel Campus Roundtable;
  • Foster and maintain relationships with Israel advocacy colleagues, as well as university faculty, administration, and students;
  • Develop and implement strategies and manage initiatives to convene a thoughtful, ongoing conversation about Israel on campus and in the classroom among university faculty and administrators;
  • Create and execute an Israel curriculum for high schools featuring educator training, student advocacy sessions and regional seminars;
  • Collaborate with GesherCity to reach out to the Young Adult community and engage them in Israel advocacy and programs by being the Israel Cluster Coordinator
  • Provide assistance and support to other IAC and JCRC initiatives as assigned.

The JCRC's Israel work at universities is realized through the Israel Campus Roundtable, a collaboration of 16 Israel advocacy organizations, which is co-convened by JCRC, Combined Jewish Philanthropies and the Hillel Council of New England.  The Program Coordinator manages the ICR and maintains relationships with each of the member organizations through their representatives.  The Program Coordinator also works directly with students and Hillel professionals at Boston University, Brandeis, Wellesley, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, Tufts and smaller area schools. 

Specific ICR duties include:

  • Develop ICR agendas, facilitate meetings and implement resulting actions;
  • Manage all aspects of ICR subcommittees;
  • Assist with development and implementation of Israel programming and integrate with ICR campaigns;
  • Liaise between students and Hillel professionals; 
  • Attend ICR and other Israel events to provide guidance and assistance;
  • Maintain regular contact with the Israel on Campus Coalition, participate in regional conference calls and provide updates on major developments at Boston area campuses.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Jewish Community or other related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Advocacy experience
  • Familiarity with Boston area college campuses
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
