(NOVEMBER 28–BOSTON) Today we learned that longtime Congressman Barney Frank will not pursue reelection. JCRC salutes the 4th Congressional District Representative for his years of service and we thank him for bringing our core Jewish values with him to Congress. He has spoken up on behalf of Israel and her right to live in peace with her neighbors.
Congressman Frank cares deeply about the security of the United States and its interests and has been an outspoken advocate for sanctions against Iran’s energy sector. “I was proud to share the stage with Congressman Frank when the bill to divest Massachusetts pension funds from companies doing business with Iran was signed,” said Bill Gabovitch, JCRC President. “He has been a leader on sanctions against Iran’s energy sector in DC and at home.”
He has been an outspoken champion on civil rights and civil liberties, including LGBT rights, and social services “Congressman Frank has worked closely with our community to ensure access to services for those in need,” said JCRC Executive Director Jeremy Burton. “He is a defender of care for seniors, affordable housing, and education.”
JCRC is available for comment upon request.
