(Boston, February 13, 2012)  Bill Gabovitch and Jeremy Burton, President and Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, released this statement today in response to the simultaneous attacks on Israeli diplomats in India and Georgia:

“Calculated, well-planned, and simultaneous attacks on its diplomats demonstrate the ongoing struggle that Israel faces as it fights to protect itself from those who would see it destroyed.  We condemn these acts of terror and support the efforts of local authorities in India and Georgia to bring those responsible to justice.

Although no single group has taken responsibility for these attacks, they carry all the hallmarks of Iran and its proxy Hezbollah.  Regardless of the perpetrator, these outrages represent a rejection of all diplomatic norms and human decency.  Once again, terrorists have shown that they are intent upon destabilizing the region and preventing a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  We support Israel and its allies in this critical moment as they work to avert more attacks and hold accountable those responsible for them.”
