JCRC President Bill Gabovitch and Executive Director Jeremy Burton released the following statement today:

(OCTOBER 25-BOSTON) JCRC of Greater Boston joins with people of good conscience in expressing both our outrage at the barrage of rocket attacks against Israel from Hamas-controlled Gaza and our disappointment that the global community has remained silent in the face of these acts of terror.

In the last 48 hours, terrorists have fired over 80 rockets into southern Israel from Gaza. JCRC President Bill Gabovitch stated: “The injuries to Israelis and the fear that has overtaken Israeli families are intolerable and heartrending. Our community and its allies stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Israel and JCRC expresses its support for the government of Israel in fulfilling its responsibility to protect its citizens.”

“We are dismayed at the lack of attention from the global community, which seems oblivious to the cries for help from this vulnerable community,” JCRC Executive Director Jeremy Burton added. “This week, Israeli parents in southern Israel were quoted as saying that ‘we just lie on top of our children and try to protect them with our bodies; we're living on borrowed time.’  We call upon international bodies to stand against this terrorism and to express their outrage at these attacks against unarmed civilians.”
