Jewish Community Condemns Terror Attack on Israeli Bus by IDF Deserter
(Boston, August 4) The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston issued the following statement today following the murder of 4 Israeli citizens by an Israeli Defense Forces deserter.
"JCRC condemns in the strongest possible terms this act of terror. These murders are a violation of our tradition and an attempt to sabotage efforts for peace.
We also condemn the violent and racist rhetoric of extreme right-wing radicals (such as the outlawed Kach and Kahane Chai organizations) which incites the hatred behind this horrific attack on Israel's Arab population.
We join with the Israeli people and their government in condemning this vicious act and offering comfort to the Israeli Arab community in this time of great sorrow and outrage.
We extend our condolences to the families of those that were murdered. Our prayers are with the families of the injured and we hope for their speedy recovery.
At a time when Israel is taking steps to withdraw from the Gaza Strip and the northern West Bank, extremists must be stopped from destroying fragile hopes for peace."
