Send Page to a Friend Jewish Organizations Express Deep Disappointment with Islamic Society Suit Against the David Project and members of the Jewish Community (November 7, 2005) Statement of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, the Combined Jewish Philanthropies and the NE Chapter of the American Jewish Committee regarding Islamic Society of Boston Litigation The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, and the New England Chapter of the American Jewish Committee expressed deep disappointment today regarding the suit filed by the Islamic Society of Boston against the David Project and certain members of the Jewish community. It is unfortunate that questions about important public policy issues have not been addressed by the Islamic Society of Boston and others and that, instead, litigation has been filed that seeks to stifle public discussion and dissuade others from asking legitimate and important questions. We stand in solidarity with those in our community who see this issue as one of free speech and exercise of basic civil rights.  We are confident that the court will see this suit for what it is and judge it accordingly.
