Send Page to a Friend Sharon residents attend Boston Celebrates Israel   By The Sharon Advocate   Bracha Leah and Amital Shapiro of Sharon attended Boston Celebrates Israel, a family event that included a rally, walk and concert held on Sunday, June 18 in Boston. Boston Celebrates Israel, sponsored by Combined Jewish Philanthropies and co-sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council, The Jewish Advocate and Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston, honored the 58th anniversary of the State of Israel. Nearly 4,000 people attended the event, which kicked off with a rally in Copley Square, followed by a walk through the streets of Boston to City Hall Plaza. The day culminated there, where families listened to live performers, joined Israeli dance troupes, children "dug for archeological treasure" and everyone enjoyed Israeli food. More than 35 community organizations, school and institutions supported the event.
