Darfur urgency

Your editorial (Ending the Darfur Silence, April 30) underscored the critical need for community awareness and activism to end the genocide in Darfur. On the same day, I joined over 50,000 people from across the country in Washington DC to express our concern and demand that our government heed the cry of "Never Again".
Thanks to efforts made by the Massachusetts Coalition to Save Darfur, the Bay State turnout at the rally was truly an inspiration. We are proud to have been among the founding members of the coalition.
Last Sunday was an important step in ending the genocide in Darfur, but we must now move forward to end the genocide. We must pressure our government to lead the global community to take action and create a strong multinational force to return stability to Darfur.
The time is now to stop the genocide.
