Working to collect stories

By Seth Brysk
The Jewish Advocate

In regard to "Refugees Remembered" (Sept. 29), the Jewish Community Relations Council is proud to have launched the groups Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa (JIMENA) based in San Francisco at www.jimena.org. JCRC is working with the Mizrahi community to form a local JIMENA group in the Boston area. JIMENA Boston will participate in the international campaign to tell the story of the Jewish refugees and assert their legal rights in diplomatic settings and elsewhere. The Advocate neglected to mention that JCRC was pleased to co-sponsor a screening of the "Forgotten Refugees" with The David Project, which also produced the flim. The success of the international campaign will depend on the entire Jewish community working together in partnership to tell this important chapter in our history.
