Senator Brown visits 126 High Street
On Thursday, January 12th, the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) welcomed United States Senator Scott Brown to discuss the Jewish community’s domestic priorities to an audience that included professional and lay leadership of JCRC, Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP), Jewish Vocational Services (JVS), and Jewish Family and Children’s Services (JFCS). Senator Brown discussed the current state of affairs in Washington and described his efforts to find consensus and work with his colleagues to meet the challenges facing the nation. Attendees such as CJP Campaign co-Chair Judith Kaye and JCRC Board member Phil Gordon asked about the Social Safety Net and job growth, to which the Senator answered, “[We must] make good decisions to strengthen our programs so they’re there for future generations.”
This was a tremendous opportunity for the Jewish community to strengthen the relationship with Senator Brown and express their overall support for economic recovery and development.
