We offer multiple ways to volunteer! Join us for a full summer of volunteering, just one month, or drop-in when you like. We’ll also have special volunteer events throughout the summer. We look forward to seeing you for a fun-filled summer of volunteering!

Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteers with the Emerald Necklace in the Rose Garden will participate in ecological restoration work such as planting trees and flowers or removing invasive species. All tools will be provided by the Emerald Necklace for this project. Tuesday July 16 and August 13, 5:30pm-7:30pm

Senior Connections at The Golda Meir House in Newton*
Mondays, 7:00pm-8:00pm
Take part in discussion groups and create connections with the senior residents.
Location: Close to the Woodland stop on the Riverside ‘D’ Green line.  Free parking available.

 

Access to Affordable Food at Daily Table in Dorchester*
Tuesdays, 6:30-8pm – August Only
Help with the daily operations of the Daily Table store that provides lower cost healthy food to residents including bagging groceries, packaging, stocking, sorting, and light kitchen prep.
Location: Dorchester, off the red line at Shawmut stop, Fairmont Line at Talbot Ave. stop or the #23 or #17 bus. Free parking available.

 

Hunger and Homelessness at First Parish in Cambridge*
Tuesdays, 5:15-7:30pm
Prepare and serve meals to those in need.
Location: Harvard Square, off the Red line

 

Senior Connections at Hebrew SeniorLife in Brookline at 100 Centre Street*
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm
Take part in discussion groups and create connections with the senior residents.
Location: Coolidge Corner, off the ‘C’ Green line.

 

Get Cooking with Yachad in Brookline-FULL
Wednesdays from July 10-August 14 from 5:30pm-8-00pm
Join Yachad participants for a kosher cooking series to promote healthy living. Volunteers will help the Yachad participants improve their cooking skills. This class will be taught by trained culinary instructor, Gabrielle Redner. (Yachad is an organization devoted to creating an inclusive environment for Jewish individuals with disabilities.)
Location: Congregation Kehillath Israel in Coolidge Corner, off the ‘C’ Green line.
*Designates a drop-in volunteer site.
