For Young Adults Volunteering Before the Holidays:

Date: Friday, November 23 (the day after Thanksgiving)

St. Francis House

Serve as “waiters” for a restaurant style meal for 500 men and women

Time: 11:00am-1:30pm

Location: Downtown Boston on Boylston Street

St. Francis House is the largest day shelter in New England and serves more than 600 poor and homeless men and women a day, 365 days a year. The basic, rehabilitative, and housing services overlap and build on one another to provide guests with continuous and comprehensive care.

For Families with Young Children:

Date: Sunday, December 2

Hebrew SeniorLife, Door to Door Gift Bags

Volunteers will be assembling and delivering small, seasonally-themed gift packages with sweet and savory food items.

Times: 2:00pm-4:00pm

Location: HSL, Brookline, 100 Centre Street

Hebrew SeniorLife offers independent, affordable, non-denominational apartment style living with onsite services that promote independence. Residents engage and support each other and work together for the good of the community.

Celebrating Hanukkah with Yachad

Help set up the Yachad Hanukkah party and then celebrate the holiday alongside the Yachad participants

Time: 7:00pm-9:30pm

Location: Coolidge Corner

Yachad is an organization devoted to creating an inclusive environment for Jewish individuals with disabilities.


Date: Tuesday, December 18

Room to Grow with Yachad

Join participants of Yachad at Room to Grow and help sort donations of clothes, toys, and books. After volunteering, join Yachad for some hot chocolate!

Time: 5:30pm-7:30pm

Location: Back Bay on Berkeley Street

Yachad is an organization devoted to creating an inclusive environment for Jewish individuals with disabilities.

Room to Grow works to provide children born into poverty with the tools and resources to be successful. Focusing on children from birth through age three they provide parenting education and support as well as books, clothing, and educational toys for the children.


Volunteering For Young Adults on Christmas Day, Tuesday December 25:

Center Communities of Brookline: Hebrew SeniorLife 100 Centre Street

Join residents at HSL for an afternoon of conversation and board games. Feel free to bring your favorite games with you!

Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm

Location: Brookline

Tuesday Meals at First Parish

Help serve a Christmas Day dinner.
