St. Francis House FULL

Serve as “waiters” for a restaurant style meal for 500 men and women in need.

Time: 10:45am-2pm

Location: Downtown Boston on Boylston Street

St. Francis House is the largest day shelter in New England and serves more than 600 poor and homeless men and women a day, 365 days a year. The basic, rehabilitative, and housing services overlap and build on one another to provide guests with continuous and comprehensive care.

 

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly FULL

Visit with 1-2 seniors and deliver them a hot meal, bouquet of flowers, and small gift (provided for you) in small groups. **Will need to complete an additional registration form and CORI** Deadline to register: December 19

Time: 11am-2pm

Location: Meet at Northeastern University and deliver to elders throughout the city.  No car is necessary. Most elders live within a 10 minute walk of the MBTA. Elders live in nursing homes, apartments, and single family homes.

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly is a national network of non-profit volunteer-based organizations committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly and offer the opportunity to join the elderly in friendship and celebration of life.

 

Center Communities of Brookline: Hebrew SeniorLife  FULL

Join seniors for an afternoon of board games and conversation.

Time: 2:30-4pm

Location: Brookline

Hebrew SeniorLife offers independent, affordable, non-denominational apartment style living with onsite services that promote independence.  Seniors engage and support each other and work together for the good of the community.

 

Haley House  FULL

Serve a meal on Christmas day to men and women over the age of 55 who come together as a community to share similar lives and stories of homelessness and loneliness in the inner city.

Time: 1-5pm

Location: South End on Dartmouth Street

Haley House helps those made vulnerable by the harshest effects of inequality move toward wholeness and economic independence by offering collaborative living and working environments.

 

New England Center and Home for Veterans  FULL

Set up and serve a meal to Veteran residents and offer support to those with limited mobility.

Time: Approximately 12-4pm

Location: Downtown Boston

New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) supports Veterans with innovative services that enable success, meaningful employment, and dignified independent living.  NECHV serves over 350 Veterans each day in their home communities.

 

Yachad Hanukkah Celebration

Set up for the party and then connect with Yachad members and their families while celebrating the 2nd night of Hanukkah

Time: 6:00-9:00pm

Location: Temple Reyim in Newton, near the Green Line Woodland Station T

Yachad is an international organization promoting inclusion for children and adults with disabilities in the broader Jewish community.
