Below is description of this year’s offerings and details on our great facilitators, with a signup form at the bottom of the page. Each session will include refreshment or a light evening meal (kashrut observed).

What’s New in Children’s Literature?

Get acquainted with new and noteworthy books and tips form noted children’s librarian, Maggie Levine.

Maggie joins us from the Boston Public Library Rey Children’s Room at the central library in Copley Square. There she regularly leads activities; engages with community partners and provides programming to youth and families.

Comprehension and Vocabulary Strategies: A Focus on ELL’s

Learn more about working with 1st through 4th grade English Language Leaners and students with learning differences.

With Special Educator and Professor Claudia Rinaldi Ph.D. chair of the Education Department and Associate Professor at Lasell College.

Claudia Rinaldi is a leader in the field of education with expertise in special education leadership, research, and teacher preparation. Her areas of focus include: special education, reading interventions English language learners (ELLs) with disabilities and learning disabilities.

Brockton Area Learning Session

Learn about the current district curriculum and different strategies for effectively working with students that have learning difficulties from a Brockton Reading Specialist.

Kennedy Elementary Reading Specialist Kelly Naumenko will lead a discussion on decoding skills, word work activities and resources with an emphasis on blending and sight words.
