JCRC offers many opportunities to get involved in the Greater Boston community.

Volunteer to Support our Immigrant Neighbors

JCRC organizes our community to provide support for immigrants and refugees seeking resettlement and refuge. We work with Jewish communities and hundreds of volunteers to create a system of support. To learn more or get involved in this work, contact Director of Synagogue Organizing Rachel Lewis.

Volunteer with the Greater Boston Jewish Coalition for Literacy

Our Boston Jewish Coalition for Literacy (GBJCL) mobilizes the Jewish community to tutor elementary school children and help them discover the joy of reading. Through partnerships with synagogues, Jewish community organizations, day schools, and local businesses, GBJCL engages volunteer tutors in school-based one-to-one literacy tutoring, mentoring, book drives, and advocacy efforts in under-served communities. The traditional volunteer model for GBJCL is tutoring one student weekly for the whole school year. These GBJCL volunteers join literacy teams from synagogues, Jewish organizations, and local businesses. Click here to sign up.

Become a Docent at the New England Holocaust Memorial

JCRC’s stewardship of the New England Holocaust Memorial creates a wide variety of educational opportunities for people of all ages. The memorial is an important resource for individuals, teachers, and groups looking to study the Holocaust, genocide awareness, bullying and other issues of discrimination, hatred and intolerance. Please email Director of Community Engagement Emily Reichman about becoming a docent to conduct group tours of the New England Holocaust Memorial.
